In 2025, Lourdes is experiencing an exceptional year marked by the Jubilee of Hope and the centenary of the beatification of Bernadette Soubirous, declared Blessed by Pope Pius XI on June 14, 1925. Two major spiritual events drawing thousands of pilgrims from around the world.
An Exceptional Triduum from June 12 to 14, 2025 in Lourdes. Over the course of three days, from Thursday, June 12 to Saturday, June 14, pilgrims from all over the world are invited to experience key spiritual moments :
▪️Each morning, the Jubilee Way begins, retracing Bernadette’s footsteps through the symbolic places of her life in Lourdes.
▪️During the day, catecheses, solemn Masses at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, Rosaries at the Grotto, and meditations on the message of Lourdes will be held.
▪️In the evening, prayer vigils, candlelit Marian processions, and moments of reflection around the relics of Bernadette will take place.
▪️On June 14, a grand Mass of Thanksgiving at the Grotto will mark the high point of these historic celebrations.

Lourdes is far more than a spiritual destination: it is a point of departure—an invitation to walk in the footsteps of Bernadette Soubirous, a humble and radiant young girl, witness to the invisible.
Each iconic site in the city tells part of her story :
▪️The Boly Mill, her birthplace,
▪️The Cachot, where she lived in deep poverty,
▪️The parish church, where she was baptized,
▪️The recently restored paternal house,
▪️The hospital chapel, where she received her First Communion,
▪️Bartrès, where she stayed several times
And, of course, the Grotto of Massabielle, where the Virgin Mary appeared to her 18 times in 1858.
Through these authentic places, visitors are invited on an inner journey, immersed in faith, peace, and fraternity. The Way of the Cross, the Path of Bernadette, the major processions, and moments of prayer at the Grotto all contribute to a profoundly human and spiritual experience.
But this journey extends beyond Lourdes. It continues in Nevers, at the Saint-Gildard Convent, where Bernadette spent her final years in silence and prayer. Her incorrupt body still rests there today.
Finally, at Notre-Dame de Paris, beginning June 9, 2025, pilgrim groups will be welcomed to a dedicated exhibition about Bernadette as part of the Jubilee. Group visits (maximum 25 people) will require prior registration. This major Marian and heritage site, currently being restored, forms a spiritual link between Lourdes, Nevers, and Paris, where pilgrims can also visit the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal—another key place of Marian devotion.
