TIA Wellness Resort’s new wellness ritual takes guests on a dreamlike journey with a weightless therapy that moves beyond healing touch to embrace the senses of sound and sight.
The first of its kind in Vietnam and unlike anything else on offer, Aerial Flow Therapy, takes place in a purpose-built room. The guest is suspended in a spacious, cocoon-like hammock in the center of the tranquil space. While floating mid-air the therapist guides the guest through gentle swaying, assisted stretching and soothing touch to help decompress the spine and provide joint relief, allowing energy in the body to flow more freely.
The guest is fully immersed in a 3D lightscape of shifting colors and shapes. Through the movement of light and shapes a depth is created that enables the guest to feel enveloped within a dreamlike atmosphere. The multisensory experience promotes mood and sleep enhancement, reduces stress, and helps the nervous system to reset.
“The spatial and sensory immersion that Aerial Flow Therapy provides works on both a physical level - through restorative touch and soothing stretching - and on a mental level,” explained Ramon Imper, general manager of TIA Wellness Resort. “Being fully surrounded by the light experience promotes mindfulness and helps the person receiving the treatment move into their parasympathetic nervous system, known as ‘rest and digest.’ This helps them to feel calm and peaceful.”
The new 60-minute Aerial Flow Therapy is part of the hotel’s menu for ‘Retreat Inclusive’ guests, one of the stay options at the property. Retreat Inclusive guests dive deeper into wellness with multiple therapies each day, a plant-based meal plan, and access to a range of wellbeing classes including HIIT, yoga, breathwork masterclasses and creativity sessions.
TIA has also introduced three other new Retreat therapies, Advanced Facial Beauty Therapy, Shiatsu and Energy Body Flow, further broadening the comprehensive selection of treatments that complement their regular menu and raise the bar on healing. The Retreat menu already includes advanced therapies like Detox Hydro Circuit Therapy, an active 60-minute detox journey that combines hydrotherapy massage, sauna, herbal steam and an ice bath, and Master Reiki Healing Therapy, a form of energy healing from Japan.
TIA has looked to Japan for its new therapies. The 60-minute Advanced Facial Beauty Therapy combines Japanese facial treatment innovation with Comfort Zone skincare, conscious, science-backed products from Italy. The multi-step treatment combines aqua-derm cleansing, ultrasonic refinement, cryo-cooling, and LED light therapy to purify, hydrate and firm skin, creating a youthful glow.
“The new facial treatment is our first step into the area of advanced facials,” said Ramon. “We’re incorporating technology such as LED lights and ultrasonic vibrations, to further enhance the benefits of our facials.”
A 60-minute Shiatsu treatment, a traditional Japanese full-body therapy, is also now available. Shiatsu works with the body’s meridian lines (energy channels) and acupressure points to help stimulate and align energy flow in the body. The practice relieves muscle and joint tension and helps improve digestive and immune function.
The 50-minute Energy Body Flow combines the healing power of Reiki, a practice that works on an energetic level and doesn’t require contact with the physical body, and a gentle massage with long strokes for a treatment that works on multiple levels. The session relieves tension and promotes deep relaxation.
The beachfront resort in Da Nang was recently named the #6 ‘Best Destination Spa Resort in the World,’ in Conde Nast Traveler’s (USA) annual Readers’ Choice Awards. They were the only resort in Southeast Asia to land in the top ten.
