The Hari Hong Kong:

A Stylish Stay in the Heart of Hong Kong

The Hari Hong Kong made its debut in Hong Kong’s hotel scene in 2020. Five years on, the upscale, design-forward property has garnered global recognition and is now considered one of the top hotels in Hong Kong and Macau, according to the readers of America’s top travel publication Condé Nast Traveler.

Bridging the commercial pulse of Causeway Bay and the creativity and vibrancy of Wan Chai, The Hari Hong Kong stands 30 stories tall on Hong Kong’s Lockhart Road. The sister hotel of The Hari London, The Hari Hong Kong is the brainchild of Dr Aron Harilela, the chairman and CEO of Harilela Hotels Ltd., whose family has a long legacy in Hong Kong.

The property’s 210 guest rooms offer sweeping views of Victoria Harbour and the city. The key count includes three signature rooftop suites with terrace, showcasing a layered approach to the design created by Tara Bernerd, the founder and CEO of Tara Bernerd & Partners. Bernerd, a leading international interior architect, is also behind the interiors of The Hari London.

The discrete luxury begins upon arrival at the hotel’s drop-off point, tucked in at street level. Behind a wall of framed glass, a design detail repeated throughout the hotel, is the entrance. A green wall to the left brings nature into the space, enhancing the feeling of arriving at an oasis in the heart of the city. More than just a lush design feature, the green wall, which stretches three stories high, contributes to the hotel’s sustainability efforts by helping bring down the temperature of the surrounding areas.

In a nod to The Hari London, a petrol blue lacquer panelling accents various surfaces. The rest of the palette is dominated by amber leathers, grey marble, and neutral textured linens. Materiality is key, with a mixture of tweed and velvet fabrics in a rich jewel palette of blues, greens, and earthy tones. Timber, marble and fluted surfaces feature prominently in different applications.

Continuing a theme introduced at The Hari London, the lobby’s booth seats are set into a library wall containing a collection of books, vases and artworks. The lobby spaces are created to be an elegant home-away-from-home.

Artistry extends beyond the facade and interior design with a strong emphasis being placed on the art collection adorning the hotel’s walls. Art is part of the DNA of The Hari brand and is one of the core pillars of the hotel.

The array of pieces at the property is curated by A Space For Art and spans a variety of mediums including installations, mixed media, surreal photographs, graphic paintings, three-dimensional images and digital film pieces.

The Hari Hong Kong runs The Hari Art Prize, inviting up-and-coming, local artists to submit work in a competition designed to celebrate the diverse local art scene and inspire the next generation of artists. Now in its third year, The Hari Art Prize 2026 is a collaboration between The Hari Hong Kong and A Space For Art.

The hotel features the choice of two restaurants: Italian or Japanese, each with its own distinct feel and character; along with The Terrace bar and The Lounge for drinks and nibbles. Sleek and refined, the dining outlets maintain the smart and dignified playfulness that permeates the hotel.

Chic and charming Lucciola is a contemporary ode to heritage flavours. The ristorante and bar deliver impeccable, beloved Italian classics with a modern twist. Crafted using the finest produce from the region, the menu is a celebration of seasons and provenance.

Seasonal offerings complement a robust regular menu with dishes like I Tonnarelli Cacio Pepe, e Limone, handcrafted Tonnarelli Pasta, creamy pecorino romano, Amalfi lemon, and ground black pepper and Guancia di Manzo Brasata al Barbaresco, braised wagyu beef cheek, Lardo ham, mashed potatoes, baby carrots and gravy, and the restaurant’s signature tiramisu.

The ocean’s bounty is also celebrated on the menu along with weekly promotions. On Thursdays, the spotlight is on mussels with the ‘Mussel-icious’ promotion - 90 minutes of endless servings of Lucciola’s signature black mussels, complemented by french fries and a leafy green salad.

The restaurant’s Pranzo Italiano brunch with bottomless drinks and an array of Italian favourites each weekend is also a highlight. Dishes include a seafood platter to start, a selection of antipasto to share on the table such as the Il Vitello Tonnato, veal tenderloin, tuna sauce, Modena aged balsamic, and Pantelleria capers, and Cappesante Arrostite, Topinambur, Caviale di Aringa Affumicato, roasted scallop with Jerusalem artichoke and smoked herring caviar. The curated culinary journey continues with a choice of mains such as the Carnaroli Risotto Rucola, Pistacchio e Burrata Pugliese, seven-year aged carnaroli risotto, pizza, prime U.S. beef ribeye steak or Atlantic halibut, before ending the meal with a grand finale of select, well-loved treats in the dessert trolley including the signature Tiramisu, homemade gelato, and ricotta and pistachio cannoli. Zoku’s weekend brunch begins with a choice between the Moriwase sashimi platter and fresh seasonal oysters served with lime and ponzu. This is followed by a selection of moreish Otsumami snacks like wagyu gyoza with foie gras or wasabi prawn. Each guest may then choose from a selection of delectable signature sushi such as Makimono (wagyu roll, hamachi roll), or Nigiri (salmon, sweet shrimp, bluefin tuna loin). For mains, there’s an array of Japanese favorites, such as the A-4 Miyazaki Wagyu and vegetarian Yaki Soba with truffle. Brunch is finished with a sweet dessert with options including a salted caramel sando, and Hojicha crème brulée. Freeflow drinks can also be added.

Zoku’s seafood is all sustainably sourced. Signature dishes on offer at lunch and dinner include Wasabi Prawns, tiger prawn tempura with a wasabi emulsion and avocado cream, Yellowtail Ceviche with Japanese amberjack, seaweed and tomato; Wagyu Nigiri with wagyu beef, avocado, fried fish, and chili sauce; and Lobster Soba with Okinawa squid soba in a spicy lobster soup.

Zoku’s interior features leather fluted booths, crimson velvet banquettes and bar lounge chairs amid the glow of pink bubble glass tealight holders and orange hand stitched fringed lampshades. Meaning “clan” in Japanese, the restaurant is dominated by a mesmerizing ceiling of angled timber slats in origami-like forms.
Located adjacent to Zoku Restaurant, The Terrace is a lush al fresco space with panoramic views over Wan Chai where guests can enjoy cocktails or mocktails, specialty sake, and wine from noon till late. The hotel’s green wall creates a feeling of being in an oasis in the heart of the city.

The Hari Hong Kong is an urban retreat in a vibrant neighborhood that inspires guests through its art, design and connection to the local culture, but it’s the impeccable, heartfelt service that keeps guests returning to this award-winning hotel.
